Carbon Copy by Travis J. Black

“Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.” “The tragedy of life is not death but what we let die inside of us while we live.”

— Norman Cousins

Weightless and delicate
Fragile and airy form,

Phantom image
Shell from my broken frame,

Thin and translucent
Peering into an effigy,

standing silently still,

A husk of my former self

Now

A

Ghost
