It was during a snowstorm that she realized she had ghosts. Like mice or spiders, they just arrived.
It was a little unsettling. And there were no introductions.
Just the slamming doors.
Don’t get her wrong. She liked old things.
But the laughter was monotonous.
She looked for some sort of trap online. Home Depot’s Live Chat said – Get a priest – Call in a Nun.
But she wasn’t religious.
So, she kept to herself.
239 Facebook friends offered advice including burning sage or incense and chanting incantations. Some suggested garlic.
If that didn’t work, said others – just tell them to get out. It’s your house.
It turns out there were three. And one went to public school.
This morning she woke up to the smell of coffee and cinnamon rolls and she wondered.
How bad can these ghosts really be?

The smell of cinnamon soothes all fears. I enjoyed the surprise twist in this.
