You by Jan Darrow

no one believes
there is a ghost in the woods

I think now
about the drive out of town
the autumn leaves drifting into shadows
the trees
you brought me here
into the long dark grass
you promised
a memory
when we were young
and you were everything
now here you are under the moon
and that day
lives on
the two lane road along the forest
car wheels spinning
rushing air
laughter

the sudden shattered glass

Jan Darrow lives in Michigan with her husband and daughter where she connected with the natural world at an early age.  She has most recently been published by “The Purpled Nail” and currently has two collections of poetry and a collection of flash fiction available on Amazon.
