Mind and Body by Sravani Singampalli

They say that his blood stinks.
His red blood cells are rotting away
Because of his misdeeds and
White blood cells have refused
To fight for him.
He knows that he was wrong that day.
He knew the repercussions.
Today those poor people have lost homes
Their children can’t go to school
Just because of him.
Now, their hunger has cursed him.
His body is slowly deteriorating.
He asks for forgiveness
But some leaves
Have already wilted.
