Night Jargon by Mary Bone

Hunters understand
Night jargon.
They hear howls and growls.
In the deer stand
They see a thousand stars.
Ears are attuned to every
Sound in the forest.
Eyes are adjusting to the shadows.
Every cracking twig
Could mean food for their table.

Mary Bone has been writing poetry since the age of twelve. Some of her poetry can be found at Literary Yard, Poetry Pacific, The New Ink Review, The Homestead Review, Spillwords and The New Ink Review.
