The Fantasies Delight by Rimli Bhattacharya

The evening sky hovered
With siesta whispering –
“Lady why don’t you sleep tonight?”

I had been watching the sky
Till the evening sun faded in the inky darkness
The moon embarked its journey
With siesta whispering –
“Lady why don’t you sleep tonight?”

The angels were in disguise
As I drank the sweetness of the night flowers;
With the nature humming a song
The melody like a fantasy
With siesta whispering –
“Lady why don’t you sleep tonight?”

I wish to wander in the woods
Basking in the moonlight;
As I would like to tread deep enough
Abandoning the mundane world
With siesta whispering –
“Lady why don’t you sleep tonight?”

The stillness of the evening breathes inside me
As I sense a sublime feeling
Of the beauty of the night sky fluttering above me.

I whisper back to siesta that I need to stay awake
As I want to enjoy the beauty of night
Taking my breath away.

Sleep levitates on me
As the Orange flame orbs the setting.
The silhouettes of the clouds etches the dark shadows
With the evening light diminishing
And the cool air settling over me.

I close my eyes
Smiling I whisper to my siesta
Yes I will sleep tonight.
Along with the night sky to my fantasies delight.
