Descending down the valley slip 
With the first breach of winter snow

Dead branches and leaves 
Singing the end of the last summer day 
The smell of benign frozen music 
Infusing itself throughout the trees 
The formal dress of winter falls in the light wind 
As the wind delicately sews the garment 
To a perfect fit in virgin white
